Donation-Based Model
Artist Gather is not a big tech platform.
It's a community project designed to give artists a dedicated place to organize and grow.
To keep control in the hands of the creative community, Artist Gather runs on donations, not advertising or heavy subscription models.
1. Host Donations — $100 Per Event
Every time an artist or organization wants to host an event on Artist Gather, they:
- Submit event details
- Make a $100 donation to Artist Gather
- Have their event reviewed and listed on the public calendar
This $100 helps cover:
- •Platform maintenance & development
- •Calendar infrastructure
- •Community moderation
- •Support & communication
- •Tools to help the artist promote their event
2. Member Donations
Artists and supporters can optionally make donations to:
- •Help keep the platform free for browsing
- •Support artists in underrepresented communities
- •Fund new features (better discovery, local recommendations, improved profiles, etc.)
Donation Options Could Include:
- •One-time amount
- •Monthly supporter tiers
- •Sponsor an event for another artist
3. The Art World: Sponsors & Patrons
We also welcome support from:
- •Galleries
- •Art institutions
- •Brands that work with artists
- •Collectors & patrons
- •Cultural organizations
These partners can:
- •Sponsor event series
- •Support specific disciplines (e.g., literary or performing arts)
- •Co-host community programs
Why Donations, Not Paywalls?
We chose donations because:
- •Many artists are early in their journey and can't afford steep barriers.
- •We want to keep event discovery free for attendees.
- •We want a model that aligns with community, not corporate interests.
